Family Health
This programme is aimed at parents and carers with children aged 3-5 years old, providing an effective link between a child's baby years and primary school. The course aims to promote healthy lifestyles amongst parents and children, while enabling students to work towards the widely recognised OCR National Test qualification in Numeracy or Literacy at Level 1 or 2. The course will include discussion and learning about diet, fitness and home safety, and will promote learning through play. Each session will see parents/carers and children working together initially, before working independently on a common theme. The course tutor will work with the adult learners, whilst an Early Years Practitioner will work with the children in the same room. Each session will end with the whole group coming together to review and reflect on the work produced by both adults and children. At the end of the course parents/carers will be provided with information, advice and guidance on career options, training opportunities and aims, goals and ambitions. Activities or completed resources can be taken home after each session. Activities included on the programme are as follows:-
